Digital signage

Digital images, video, streaming media and information

Digital signage

Digital signs use technologies such as LCD, LED and projection to display content such as digital images, video, streaming media.

They can be found in public spaces, transportation systems, museums, stadiums, shops, hotels, restaurants and corporate buildings, etc., to provide search, exposure, marketing or other information.

Depending on how you choose to use signaling, you may receive one or more of the following benefits:

Shorter waiting time: when the signal is placed in the customer’s waiting areas, it provides entertainment that reduces the waiting time.

Improved communication with customers and employees: people absorb and remember better the information provided through images than the information provided through text only. Using digital media methods to provide vital information helps both customers and employees remember their messages more often.

Increased revenue: sharing promotions and special offers, highlighting products and services, and using additional signage space to display ads for various companies are all ways in which digital signage can increase a company’s revenue.

Easy content changes and updates: for those companies that regularly change their service offerings or update their menu items, digital signage provides an accessible and easy way to update information immediately. This saves the cost of constantly ordering new signs.

What are the elements of digital signage?

The items needed to create a digital sign can be placed in three categories.

Hardware: it includes the equipment needed to display and play a digital sign. It includes high definition screens, editing materials, media players, cables and internet access.

Content and advertising: it includes the content that will be displayed on the screen. It consists of scripts, video and audio clips, graphic design, animation.

Third-party items and/ or bonuses: it includes content that may come from a third party. It is not necessarily created by the company’s content team. It includes private label TV channels, custom selected programming, custom content wrapping, social streams, weather streams, and news feeds.

Although it is the hardware that is needed to get a functional digital sign, different content and creative elements can be used to customize the sign for the unique needs of each company.
